Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23 1971) is an American bluegrass and country musician as well as singer. She entered the music industry in the early years, winning local contests by 10, and making her first recording at 14. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and released her first solo album in 1987. The album was also a part of the band Alison Krauss Union Station where she is still performing. Then, in 1989, her first solo album debuted together with them.
